Obituary

Richard Joseph Jindrich Jr., lovingly known as “Eggman,” age 68, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away on January 2, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of laughter, stories, and unforgettable memories.

Born on August 10, 1957, in Oak Park, Illinois, Richard was the beloved son of the late Richard and Geraldine Jindrich. From an early age, it was clear he had a rare gift—he could walk into a room as a stranger and leave as a friend.

Richard’s warm spirit, quick wit, and infectious sense of humor brought people together wherever he went. He found happiness in life’s simple pleasures and made sure those around him did too. Whether it was bowling a few frames, casting a fishing line, singing karaoke, or enjoying a lively poker game, Richard knew how to have fun—and how to make others feel welcome.

A proud fan of Chicago sports, especially the Chicago White Sox, Richard cheered passionately and loyally. His greatest joy, however, was his family. He treasured holidays, celebrations, and any moment spent surrounded by the people he loved.

Richard is survived by his son John (Bekki) Moore; his cherished grandchildren Joseph, Kennadi, Addalynn, Eli, Abel, and Malachi; dear brother of Cheryl (Thomas) Munizzo, Greg (Carole) Jindrich and Ken Jindrich; fond uncle of many along with friends and extended family members who will continue to carry his laughter and spirit with them.

Richard’s life was a celebration—and his memory will be too.

Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00pm to 1:00pm Saturday, January 17th at Westchester Community Church, 1840 Westchester Blvd, Westchester, IL with a luncheon immediately following in the church basement.

He was great with children. Our daughter Bryanna lived him. He always made her smile. I hoped this link works. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17fueXms7w/
