Obituary
Iris K. Plantrich, 62, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away on December 11, 2025. She was born on June 13, 1963. Iris was a devoted mother, daughter, and family member, known for her zest for life and her unforgettable presence. She was the loving mother of Raymond Scott Bushrow II (February 21, 1991 – August 9, 1992), affectionately known as Two Bear , whom she carried in her heart throughout her life. Iris was truly the life of the party. She loved laughter, a good prank, and bringing joy to those around her. Her pets were her family, and she held a deep and lifelong love for animals. At one time, Iris owned a small farm where she cared for miniature goats, sheep, peacocks, a cow, a bull, and many other animals—each a testament to her generous heart and nurturing spirit. She also enjoyed adventure, whether riding quads or spending time alpine skiing, always embracing life with enthusiasm and courage. She is survived by her siblings: Kimberly Bebout, Kate Nolan, Stephanie Hornsby, Michelle Dittman, and Michael Hornsby. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Sandra L Hornsby, son, Raymond Scott Bushrow II, and her brother, Joe W. Nolan (June 16, 1958 – July 18, 1968) and those who raised her, Joe and Bernice Nolan. A burial service will be held in the spring in Romulus, Michigan. Iris will be laid to rest beside her son, Two Bear; her mother, Sandra Lee Hornsby; and her stepfather, Walter Steven Horsby. Iris’s life was marked by love, laughter, resilience, and a boundless spirit. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
