Lonnie Istad

Lonnie Istad, 75, of Rockford, IL passed away suddenly on October 20th, 2026.

Lonnie was born October 31, 1950, to Henry and Doris Istad in Rockford, IL. He was an amazing florist and worked many years at Broadway Florist. He also owned Lonnie's Animal Kingdom pet store. Attended Rockford Public schools.

Survivors include sister Marcia (Ronald) Vogeler and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by parents Henry and Doris Istad. Siblings Larry (Sara) Istad and Lennie Istad. Several nieces and nephews he adored.

Lonnie spent his remaining years living with Tom Badell and spending much time with his nephew Shaun Vogeler, who also lived with him for over a year. Enjoyed watching "I Love Lucy" as often as he could.
